I have just started to dabble with a lot of new equipment and software so I am trying to work fast in understanding all of whats involved with Live 8 (Fender Edition) and my on board sound card (Realtek). I wondered if anyone is using this soundcard or if its worth just going to get an external card without spending a lot of time with the Realtek that came with the PC. It is a great card for my monitors (5.1) surround sound and handles everything fine, but of course the test will be in recording and latency I imagine. Also, I wondered if anyone has used the Fender G-Dec 30 amp as an input for recording directly into Live 8 and how it works. I tried following the instructions and installed the Fender ASIO Driver as suggested but I do NOT SEE ANY USB device (the amp) when I go to check audio setup and the ASIO panel? Any ideas on why it is not seeing the Amp. According to what I have read, the fender amp along with Amplitude can both be used with Live 8.

Also, anyone believe its just a good idea to upgrade right away to the full version of Live 8 instead of dabbling with the lite version? I am wondering if there is enough resources in the lite version to successfully record within the limits lite provides? It appears the Fender version lacks even more resources than Live Intro? It appears its the bottom feeder of the Live 8 studio's but of course it was bundled Free with my amp, and after reviewing other DAW's out there for weeks, it appears a solid choice to use for my recording needs. Anyone able to compare it to others e.g. Pro Tools or Reason? Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions !
